Turkey, Iraq, UAE, and Qatar to collaborate on 'Development Path' project
Transport ministers from Turkey, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar have signed a protocol of intent for cooperation to develop the Development Path project.
This $17 billion initiative aims to construct a 1,200-kilometer road and rail route linking ports in Iraq and Turkey. Once completed, it will substantially decrease the transportation time for goods from Gulf countries to Europe.
It's worth noting that the UAE is also engaged in another project aimed at facilitating a transportation corridor from India to Europe. This corridor will pass through Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Israel.
