The foreign ministers of the European Union states have reached an agreement to allocate an additional five billion euros in military assistance to Ukraine. The EU press service announced the agreement.

"The [EU] Council has decided to increase the financial ceiling of the European Peace Fund by €5 billion and allocate this replenishment to Ukraine through the creation of a special Ukraine Assistance Fund," the statement read.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba expressed gratitude to his European colleagues, noting that Russia intends to escalate its aggression against Ukraine rather than cease it.
