Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has ordered the expansion of the decree repealing the disengagement law in northern Samaria.
"As part of implementing the law adopted by the Knesset to abolish disengagement in northern Samaria, the Defense Minister extended the decree to include the areas where the villages of Sa-Nur, Ganim, and Kadim were located," said a statement from the Defense Ministry.
In May 2023, the Defense Minister issued a decree allowing Israelis to remain in the territory where the village of Homesh was located before the disengagement. Major General Yehuda Fox, commander of the Central District, also issued a corresponding order.
Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, welcomed Gallant's decision to allow Israelis into the areas of Sa-Nur, Kadim, and Ganim. However, there are no plans to restore the destroyed villages in Samaria at the moment.
