A source within the Hamas delegation informed the news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP) that the latest round of negotiations in Cairo regarding a potential hostage release and temporary truce deal with Israel has concluded.
The Hamas delegation is returning to Doha for further consultations.
The anonymous source stated that "in recent days, hopes for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas have dwindled."
"Deep disagreements persist between the parties, primarily concerning military actions in the Strip," the source said.
