The Art Newspaper has listed the Tel Aviv Museum of Art among the world's best museums. It is the only Israeli museum to make it to the list. The museum ranked 75th on the list of the 100 most visited museums in 2023, alongside renowned institutions such as the Guggenheim, MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the British Museum, and the Tate Modern in London.

This ranking is based on the number of visitors.

For the sixth consecutive year, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art has been recognized by The Art Newspaper. This achievement is particularly noteworthy considering the challenges of 2023, a year marred by war and crisis that significantly impacted the Israeli art community. Despite these circumstances, the museum managed to attract nearly a million visitors.

The Vatican Museums and the Louvre in Paris predictably topped the list.

"This achievement takes on new significance, as the museum was closed to the public for two months following the start of the war. I thank the visitors who have come and continue to come to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art," said the museum's director Tania Coen-Uzzielli.
