During his tenure at The Wall Street Journal, Patrick played a pivotal role as the acting deputy world coverage chief. His sharp editorial insight was instrumental during his time as the health and medicine bureau chief, in which he led teams in covering monumental events, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, and contributed to prize-winning work on fertility technology and the opioid crisis.

Patrick’s career spans continents, having served as a deputy bureau chief in Chicago, with reporting stints in Johannesburg and Berlin. Covering economics and politics across more than 30 countries on four continents, he has provided insightful perspectives on global and local issues.
