The Israel Defense Forces and the Shin Bet security service report that Ahmed al-Kahlout, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabaliya (northern Gaza Strip), has given incriminating testimonies, stating that he allowed to turn the medical facility into a military facility controlled by Hamas.

"I was recruited by Hamas in 2010 and held the rank of lieutenant colonel. The hospital employs personnel who are militant members of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades. Among them are doctors, nurses, paramedics, employees, and other staff," he revealed during interrogation.

Al-Kahlout was arrested at Kamal Adwan Hospital on December 12, sparking numerous angry publications in Arab, Turkish, and Iranian media.

The Shin Bet security service quotes Ahmed Kahlout's testimony:

"The militants hide in hospitals because they believe hospitals are safe. They won't be harmed if they are inside the hospital."

"There are about 16 employees in the hospital who are members of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades."

"Hamas has offices inside the hospital. There are offices for high-ranking officials; they brought a kidnapped soldier there. There is a special place for interrogations, internal security departments, and special security. Everyone has their own phone lines inside the hospital."

"Hamas uses private ambulances. They have a different color and no license plates. They used such a vehicle to transport the kidnapped soldier and to transport the dead and the wounded."

"Once, I begged them to take a wounded person to the Indonesia Hospital in Gaza for treatment, but they refused. Their mission was more important."

"Hamas leaders are cowards. They left us on the battlefield while they hid in shelters. They destroyed us."
