On Sunday, February 18, Border Police forces, Home Front Command troops, and an IDF engineering unit entered Shu'afat, located in northern Jerusalem, and surrounded the home of the family of Fadi Jamjuma.

Jamjuma carried out a terrorist attack two days earlier south of Gedera.

According to the Israeli police press service, residents of the house were forcibly evacuated, and the building was sealed in preparation for demolition.

The attack occurred on February 16, 2024, when a gunman opened fire at a bus stop near the Re'em Masmia Junction, south of Gedera.

The victims included 23-year-old Yishai Gartner from Modi'in Ilit and 27-year-old reserve sergeant major Ori Yaish from Modiin, a fighter of the headquarters company of the 8119th battalion of the 16th Jerusalem Brigade. Four others were injured, and the terrorist was shot dead.

Fadi Jamjuma, the perpetrator of the attack, had previously lived in Hebron before settling in Shu'afat.
