According to the IDF, on Monday, March 4, 39-year-old Lieutenant Colonel G. was appointed as the commander of the Uvda airbase and is set to be promoted to the military rank of colonel.

G. began her service in the IDF in 2002 and completed a transport aviation pilot course in 2003.

Following this, she joined the 135th Squadron, flying Beechcraft King Air B-200 aircraft, before transferring to the 131st Squadron, operating Lockheed C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft.

Throughout her career, she has held various command positions, including roles at the pilot school. From 2017 to 2018, G. commanded the Alon headquarters and in 2019, she led the analytical group in the aircraft maintenance planning and control department.

In September 2019, she assumed the role of commander of the 122nd Squadron, responsible for Gulfstream V - G500 and G550 aircraft (Nahshon squadron).

Notably, G. became the first woman in the history of the IDF to hold the position of Squadron commander.
