Representatives of families whose loved ones were kidnapped by Hamas protested against the Knesset going on recess by causing a commotion in parliament. They smeared yellow paint on the doors of the plenary hall, symbolizing their fight for the return of hostages.

Many Israelis wear yellow ribbons in solidarity with the abducted individuals' families. However, lawmakers clarify that the parliamentary recess doesn't mean all MPs will vacation abroad.

Despite the recess, the Knesset Committee authorized several committee meetings to take place during this time. The Finance Committee will discuss solutions to labor shortages in agriculture and tourism, while the Knesset Legislation Committee will address procedures for prosecuting cases involving incitement to terror, among other topics.
