The State Comptroller of Israel Matanyahu Englman has called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Chief of the General Staff Herzi Halevi to cooperate in the investigation of "the greatest failure in the history of the state, the Simchat Torah massacre on October 7".

"The citizens of Israel are entitled to answers. After the examination began on the political and civilian levels, in the Ministry of Defense and the various security authorities - it will now begin its activities in a phased manner in the IDF as well. The Prime Minister and the Chief of Staff must instruct their people to act according to the law and to cooperate with the examination teams in a way that will ensure its execution as required by law," his letters to Netanyahu and Halevi on Wednesday read.
