Ynet reports that National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir plans to offer Brigadier General Ofer Winter a position in the top command echelon of the police.

According to published information, Ben Gvir had a discussion with Major General Avshalom Peled, who agreed to approach Brigadier General Winter and extend the job offer to the police force.

Earlier, it was reported that Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Chief of the General Staff Herzi Halevi decided to retire Brigadier General Winter, citing his lack of recent promotions.

From August 2020 to September 2022, Winter served as the commander of the 98th Ha-Esh Division before attending Reichman University. Since then, he has not received a new appointment. On October 7, he voluntarily joined the fighters opposing terrorists in the area surrounding Kibbutz Be'eri.
