During the night of May 19, the IDF continued its operations in the Gaza Strip. Only Gazan sources reported on the progress of the hostilities overnight.

The IDF struck targets in the north, center, and south of the Strip. According to reports, the intensity of the fighting in Gaza remains high.

In northern Gaza, the IDF artillery struck targets in the Sheikh Zuweid and Kalibo areas. The IAF conducted a strike near the Kamal Adwan Hospital and carried out several airstrikes in other areas in northern Gaza.

In central Gaza, the IAF struck the home of the Hasan family north of Nuseirat, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries. The IAF also targeted the home of the Awad family in Al-Bureij, causing injuries, and struck a target in Nuseirat.

In southern Gaza, the IDF artillery also shelled targets in the eastern part of Rafah. The IDF Navy targeted coastal areas near Rafah while IDF helicopters fired at targets in the northern part of Rafah.

Two IDF soldiers were killed during fighting in the southern Gaza Strip. They are named as Staff Sgt. Nachman Meir Haim Vaknin, 20, from Eilat and Staff Sgt. Noam Bittan, 20, from Yad Rambam.

They died as a result of a blast in a booby-trapped tunnel shaft in the Rafah area. Another two soldiers and an officer of the Givati reconnaissance unit were seriously wounded in the same explosion.

In addition, in a separate incident, a reservist of the 5832nd Combat Engineering Battalion was seriously injured in Rafah after his D9 armored bulldozer was fired at with an RPG.
