Sources in Gaza report that IDF forces are withdrawing from the Shejaiya area in eastern Gaza City.
It is reported that before the withdrawal, the military conducted operations at a local cemetery, likely searching for the remains of deceased hostages.
For the past few weeks, the IDF's 98th Division has been carrying out a renewed "cleanup" of Shejaiya. Hundreds of militants from terrorist organizations were eliminated, and tunnels and other terror infrastructure were destroyed. The first phase of the Shejaiya "cleanup" took place in November-December 2023.
