On Monday, February 12th, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reported that operators of unmanned aerial vehicles are being trained at the Syrian Shayrat Airbase for warfare against Ukraine.

According to the Ukrainian military intelligence, instructors from the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah and the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps are preparing Russian operators of Iran-made drones.

It is reported that Russian military personnel at Shayrat are being trained to operate Shahed 136, Ababil 3, and Raad UAVs.

According to the intelligence agency, the instruction is headed by a Hezbollah commander, Kamal Abu Sadiq, who specializes in the manufacture and maintenance of drones.

Syrian mercenaries are also undergoing training alongside Russian military personnel, with plans to deploy them as UAV operators in the war against Ukraine.
