Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki stated that Hamas leadership is aware it won't be part of the upcoming government in the Palestinian territories.

"Now isn't the time for a national unity government involving Hamas. Doing so would risk boycotts from certain countries, as seen in the past. We'll need international support," he remarked.

Al-Maliki emphasized that a key focus of the new government would be coordinating international aid for Gaza's reconstruction.

"Saving innocent Palestinian lives is paramount, and Hamas recognizes this," he added.

On February 26, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh submitted his resignation letter to PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

Until a new cabinet is formed, the current government will continue its duties.
