U.S. Army Central Command (Centcom) has reported that on the night of Tuesday, March 12, Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists launched a single short-range ballistic missile from areas controlled by the Houthis in Yemen toward the U.S. destroyer Laboon (DDG 58) in the Red Sea.

The missile missed its target, and no casualties or damage were reported.

Later that same day, Centcom forces, alongside a coalition ship, successfully engaged and destroyed two Houthi UAVs.

Centcom stated, "These weapons were deemed to pose an immediate threat to both merchant and U.S. Navy vessels. Our actions are aimed at safeguarding the freedom of navigation and bolstering the safety of international waters for both U.S. Navy and merchant vessels."
