On February 28, at the initiative of the Israeli side, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin met with Israel's Ambassador to Moscow, Simona Halperin.
"An exchange of views took place on the topic of Eurasian integration processes and international economic cooperation of Russia," the official statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
Several weeks ago, Simona Halperin was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry over "unacceptable comments" she made in an interview. During the conversation with the journalist, she acknowledged significant differences between Israel and Russia.
