The Jewish Sports Heritage Association, as reported by British Boxing News, has announced the induction of Detroit-based promoter and former boxer Dmitriy Salita into its Hall of Fame.

The ceremony is scheduled for April 7 in Lawrence, New York.

Expressing his gratitude, Dmitriy Salita said, "I am grateful for this incredible honor."

Born Dmitry Lekhtman in Odessa, Salita immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of 9.

During his professional boxing career, Salita participated in 38 fights, with two losses and one draw. He held several minor championship belts, though he fell short in a fight for the WBA junior middleweight world title against Amir Khan.

Since 2011, Dmitriy Salita has been at the helm of Salita Promotions.
