The IDF has reported the death of Reserve Sergeant Major Noam Ashram, 37, from Kfar Saba, a member of the 5352nd Battalion, 179th Re'em Brigade. He was seriously wounded in a battle in the center of the Gaza Strip on December 29 and succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Earlier, on January 15, reserve sergeant Nitzan Schessler, 21, from Hadera, a soldier of the 7155th battalion of the 55th A-Esh brigade, was reported killed in action during a battle in the south of the Gaza Strip.

In the same clashes, another soldier of the 7155th battalion sustained serious injuries. Additionally, in a separate battle in the south of the Gaza Strip, a soldier from the 603rd Engineer Battalion of the 7th Saar Mi-Golan Brigade was seriously wounded.

From October 31 to January 16, a total of 190 IDF soldiers lost their lives during the ground operation in Gaza.

Since October 7, the toll rises to 524 IDF soldiers, accounting for casualties from the Black Saturday terrorist attacks and the subsequent War of Iron Swords.
