On the evening of March 3, several Hebrew-language media outlets, without disclosing their sources in Jerusalem, reported that Israel was exerting pressure on Qatar to use economic leverage to compel Hamas to sign a deal before Ramadan, aiming for the release of hostages.

Ynet and N12 reported that Jerusalem believes Hamas is more inclined towards escalating the conflict beyond the Gaza Strip during Ramadan rather than seeking an agreement that would temporarily halt the fighting.

The media also mentioned that following Hamas' rejection of the "Paris proposals," mediators invited the group to present their own proposals for a potential deal but received no response.
