Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir have announced their intention to demand the same powers as Yamin Mamlakhti leader Gideon Sa'ar in the war cabinet.

On March 19, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Smotrich and Ben-Gvir.

During the meeting, the leaders of the right-wing parties expressed their demand for equivalent positions in the war cabinet, similar to those of Sa'ar.

Smotrich and Ben-Gvir stated their willingness to accept roles as observers or permanent invitees, should Sa'ar be granted a similar status.

According to Kan, in response to these demands from Ministers Smotrich and Ben-Gvir, Netanyahu plans to offer Sa'ar a senior ministerial position instead of membership in the narrow war cabinet.

It was reported the day before that Sa'ar remained steadfast in his decision to exit the government if not included in the war cabinet.

Political analysts speculate that Sa'ar might depart from the government shortly after the Purim holiday.
