On April 7, Arab and Israeli media reported that the 98th Ha-Esh Division forces, previously in Khan Yunis, are leaving Gaza, likely for an operation in Rafah.

The 162nd Division, with units like the 933rd Nahal Brigade and the Commando Brigade (including "Egoz," "Maglan," and "Duvdevan"), remains active in Gaza. The 401st Brigade secures the central sector, while others are on the border.

The IDF didn't report on the 98th and 162nd Divisions' activities, focusing on special forces instead.

The IDF officially stated, "After successfully completing its mission, including neutralizing the Khan Yunis Brigade, one of Hamas's major brigades, the 98th Division transitioned from combat operations to strategic maneuvers. The division achieved significant successes through coordinated ground and underground operations targeting key terrorist sites, securing freedom of movement in Khan Yunis and northern Gaza. Following the withdrawal, IDF forces will conduct targeted operations as needed to maximize effectiveness while minimizing casualties."
