The IDF Spokesperson's Unit confirmed that Hussain Ibrahim Mekky, a senior commander of the Southern Front of the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah, was killed in an airstrike in the Tyre area on the night of Wednesday, May 15.

Maki was accountable for a broad array of actions against Israel during the conflict and had previously overseen Hezbollah's coastal sector.

It's worth noting that earlier reports from Lebanese sources indicated that Mekky's bodyguard was also killed in the strike.

One of the accompanying photographs to the announcements of his death depicts Hussain Mekkt alongside General Muhammad Reza Zahedi, commander of the Quds Force in Syria and Lebanon, who was killed on April 1 in an attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
