Major Gal Shabbat, aged 24 and hailing from Katzir, succumbed to serious wounds sustained on May 15 during a battle with terrorists in the northern Gaza Strip.
Shabbat served as an officer in the 202nd battalion of the 35th airborne brigade "Tzanhanim."
Since the commencement of the ground operation on October 27, 2023, a total of 283 military personnel have lost their lives in Gaza.
Since October 7, due to the Hamas massacre and subsequent wars in Gaza, near the border with Lebanon, and in Judea and Samaria, as well as terrorist attacks in Israel, 631 IDF soldiers have perished.
