The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced its intention to join South Africa's lawsuit against Israel, filed at the International Court of Justice.

In a statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, it was stated, "Egypt announces its intention to formally participate in the claim filed by South Africa at the International Court of Justice."

The statement cites reasons such as "the escalating Israeli aggression and the brutality with which it is carried out," as well as "Israel's systematic violations of the rights of the Palestinian people" and "the forced displacement of Palestinians, resulting in an unprecedented crisis."

Egypt has urged Jerusalem to "adhere to the rulings of the International Court of Justice, which mandate the provision of humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in quantities sufficient to meet their needs.
