UN Secretary-General spokesperson Stephane Dujarric announced that the World Food Program has temporarily halted aid deliveries to Gaza via the US-built floating pier.

“Our WFP colleagues have decided to pause using the pier temporarily to conduct a safety review, prioritizing the safety of our staff and partners,” he stated.

During the operation to rescue Israeli hostages, helicopters landed near the pier, leading some media outlets to speculate that the IDF was utilizing the infrastructure. However, the US has refuted these claims.

Dujarric emphasized the need for a pause in operations following the recent casualties, stating, “It's understandable that our humanitarian partners would take this break to assess the situation. We hope to resume operations promptly.”
