Kibbutz Nir Oz announced Friday that 73-year-old Gadi (Gad) Hagai, abducted by Hamas on October 7, has been confirmed deceased. The terrorists continue to hold his body in Gaza.
Haggai, a retired chef and jazz musician, was a father of four and grandfather of seven. He was an Israeli-American national, and President Joe Biden said he was “heartbroken” over the news that Haggai was murdered in Hamas captivity.
His wife, 70-year-old Judi Weinstein-Haggai, remains hostage in Gaza. She is believed to have been wounded during the onslaught.
Nir Oz is one of the hardest hit communities during Hamas’s October 7 brutal rampage in southern Israel. The kibbutz did not state how it received the information of Haggai’s death.
