The State Prosecutor's Office has submitted a response to the High Court of Justice regarding the IDF and the General Security Service (Shin Bet).
The response includes a request to halt the state comptroller's inspection of these entities' activities on October 7, 2023, and in preceding periods.
"The State Comptroller has completely disregarded the IDF's stance that initiating the review at this juncture will inevitably divert officers' attention from military matters to other issues. This will severely hamper our ability to conduct combat operations," stated the state prosecutor's office in its response.
The response also highlights that despite the State Comptroller's assurances that the initial phase will focus solely on civilian aspects, the audit will impact numerous IDF officers.
